Korean Majors from the School of Foreign Languages Won the “Changchun Sejong Academy Korean Characters’ Day Memorial Writing Contest”

On October 19, “Changchun Sejong Academy Korean Characters’ Day Memorial Writing Contest” was held at Jilin International Studies University, which was jointly organized by Changchun Sejong Academy and Jilin International Studies University. A total of 26 undergraduates majoring in Korean from 9 universities and colleges including Jilin University, Changchun University of Science and Technology, Changchun Normal University, and Jilin University of Finance and Economics participated in the contest. The Korean-major seniors, Wang Jingying and Li Shicun, won first and second prize respectively.

The competition was divided into the Changchun Sejong Academy Amateur Students’ Contest and the Korean Majors’ Contest. The topic of the latter was “Gift” and students should write 800-1000 words within 1 hour and 20 minutes.

At the end of the competition, Professor Kim Jong Woo of the Korean Literature Department of Kyungnam University, a member of the jury, gave a review on behalf of the five jury members. Professor Kim not only highly praised the on-site writing ability of the contestants, but also encouraged the contestants to maintain their enthusiasm for the Korean language and keep studying and enhancing professionalism.
