From October 25 to 27, 2019, the 12th National University Russian Contest was held in Beijing Foreign Studies University. Four students from the Russian Department of our school participated in the contest. After fierce competition, the contestants from our college, with their abundant knowledge reserve and agile thinking, achieved excellent results. Liu Yurui from grade 2018 won the third prize in the junior group, Li Zhengrong of 2016 won the third prize in the senior group, and Wang Yue the third prize in the graduate group. The three contestants will be fully funded by the Secretariat of China Scholarship Council to go to Russia for further studies or degrees.
The National University Russian Contest is a mechanism project within the framework of Sino-Russian cultural cooperation, which is sponsored by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education. It has been successfully held for 12 times since 2008, and this year hosted by Beijing Foreign Studies University. A total of 366 contestants from 174 colleges and universities took part in this competition. The National Russian Contest not only provides a good platform for students learning Russian to show their knowledge of Russian language, literature, culture, national conditions, history and geography, but also promotes the development of Russian language teaching.
